Are you asking about the monthly Belediye bill, which covers water, cleaning, rubbish collection, environmental and health services etc, or the annual Property Tax bill (which is 1TL per square metre of 'covered' area' + 20% if you have a pool)?

Im not sure, it is in our new contract that we have to pay council tax. We have never paid this before as our landlords have always paid it. Thanks for all your replys

Very trusting owner, a very important receipt to keep hold off as it is required for any dealings with sale or change of name or any municipality ownership question. It is the owner of the land's responsibility to pay it, and it was in 2007 they allowed new owners to register with a contract but existing houses they could only show an interest mine for years had the 3 names on it previous owners and mine. Back in 2003 when the first boom took off this subject raised its head in 2007 as when the change of ownership was ready it was discovered no developer had paid it since they sold the house or the purchaser took up residence. Some say until we get our deeds we are not paying but at the end of the day no transfer will take place until the receipt is in place. I have 2 customers who are waiting for this receipt as 1 wants to build a pavement to get their house on the kocan and the other wants to change the house into their sole name. Roll on March when I can pay it
The monthly bill is less than 30tl if you keep under 10 units

Am still confused as there is NO council tax we have the local bele tax which is on the water bill ( one would presume they meant this) or the yearly property tax payable in one or two instaalments from April, think you need to confirm with the property owners hs.mummy

The yearly bill is called the Emlak Vergisi: which is the Immoveable Property Tax and is due twice a year on the last day of April and September It will be worked out on the size of the plot and the covered area. Newer properties sometimes have the pool included in the price.
As it covers the property it does get called Council Tax by some owners

Or the monthly bill
