Can anyone please help with regards stainless steel sink discolouration cleaning methods / solutions.
It is a new sink, showing signs of slight discolouration and very light water marks of which fairy and sponge will not remove.
Our previous sink was replaced due to chemical abuse from various chemicals being recommended , used and caused severe " greying / cloudy discolouration that could not be removed.
Appreciate any advice, many thanks.

The quality of the stainless here I think is fairly poor. Avoid using strong acids like Tuz Ruhu. To get watermarks off lemonjuice would probably be as good as anything. Cif is also good. In comercial kitchens we also used to use a stainless steel wire wool pad on stubborn stuff.

Try WD40, know it sounds odd, but have used it and it does help.

Have to agree with Jonnie,do not use that stuff on any stainless or chrome!! Discolours stainless, which cannot be brought back & will also fetch the chrome plate off wastes. Vinegar/water solution will remove some stains, good for cleaning greasy cooker hoods & stainless appliances.

White vinegar it's a miracle worker! I use it on mine, my husband is not great at drying the the sink after use and I get water marks/limescale I put vinegar on it, and lightly rub it in then rinse off, brilliant! I use it my kettle too!! Good luck!

sticky1 my friend,
google it....
The web can give you a wide range of solutions and remedies some are traditional environmental friendly and others are chemical based methods. You take your pick...
If you cant be bothered with reading instuctions, then I suggest you seek youtube. where you find hand on videos.
best of luck

Many thanks to all who posted.
My wife tried a few of the recommended and had good results all accept for the small discolouring areas.
However in her frustrations today she poured half a tin of efes light down the sink, guess what , it removed the discolouring marks
I will have to hide my beers in future
