I need to replace my ageing air con with a new unit. Any recommendations as to manufacturer and price please.

We used Halos in Alsancack choice of three makes we got electrolux about 1000tl including fitting ,inverter about 25% more,but a lot cheaper than an individual who will no doubt canvass you on this forum who quoted 35% more for the same unit available at Halos.

I'm not dissing anyone here, I am F gas qualified and registered to install and maintain aircon units and other equipment that uses refrigerants as required by most countries across the globe. My point being that just because a company sells aircon units and their fitters install them doesn't necessarily mean they qualified to do so and do it correctly. Some times you get what you pay for. The continuing tale of " your aircon unit needs re-gasing" if installed correctly this should never need doing through the life span of the unit or unless there is a leak in the pipe work in which case it would need replacing and not just re-gasing.
Like I said at the beginning I'm not on here to Dis anyone, I'm just stating a fact.

It really depends how good the installation was.
Most companies selling a/c use sub-contractors who are "on a price". They want to fit the unit/s as quickly as possible so they can move on to the next job. Are they thorough? Do they vac the pipework out or just purge it? Are their flares gas-tight?
You pay your money and you take your pick?

Hi TRNCVaughan,you seem to know your stuf!f could you recommend a company ( buy the sound of its a bit of pot luck) to supply and fit a decent Aircon ?.

Ham on Brown we used TRNC Vaughan for our inverter unit and it was fitted by Velhi.
Great job all round, professional installation,clean work, excellent unit. Been in three or four years now and no problems whatsoever.

We can supply and install a 12,000Btu inverter driven unit by Airfel for 1990tl coming with a 5 year warranty, subject to location and survey.

As long as they are Mitsubishi

Go and look at the same unit at Halos,cheaper and fitted by the same sub-contractor as mentioned if west of Girne
