The Yanks' deliberations do not affect GBP/TLR.

This is instability and imbalances in the Turkish financial system, interference in monetary policy by Turkish politicians, geo-political tensions and indications from the Bank of England that more of the monetary policy committee are gearing up to vote for a bank rate rise.

Anyone remember when the rate was 2.5 lira to the Pound and you could get 18% interest at banks?

The Euro is taking a bashing too (Good for my shopping in Tesco) ... now at 1 pound to 1.37 Euro.

The ones I feel sorry for, are the people earning Lira and paying for goods and services in Pounds.

The poor people who get payed in TL and have to go each month to the exchange to pay their rent in hard currency are the one I feel for.
