Does anyone know the name of the guy who goes round in the jeep and approves what you can cut down etc. Phone number would be good too.

Thanks

Hi,

Don't know what kind of trees you wish to cut down but if they are fruit trees including olives and carobs, you need
to go to the Kaymakam (district lands office) in Girne. Go to the first floor with photographs of the trees and they will
give you a form to fill in. Complete the form and return to a lady named Beyaz in the office on second floor, she will then decide if you may cut them down but the man in the jeep will advise you. Take your passport and house contract with you, also a plan of your site. It is not easy to get permission as we found out last year when we wanted to cut down a dead carob.
