Ever since NTV have updated their system,ours is much worse than before. Have made online contact several times. Updated mag box,run laptop & TV together to see if it's my equipment. Still absolutely awful unwatchable crap. They pretty much refuse to send a technician,keep saying if no improvement to get back to them. Totally unacceptable from a reputedly reliable company. Renewal is due in a couple of weeks. Will definately not be renewing!!! Dreadful service!!

smokey, you have stated on the other post running, that a mag box can be used with your system. I to am having problems with ntv and as Becker has said i have also been in touch with the online service team who dont really tell me anything and i am getting to the point of changing to another system. If my mag box can be re configured to use your system then that may be the answer. Can i try the system for a couple of months ( of course i will pay for 2 months ) so that i can see what the system is like?

Hi Geoff as I wrote on another post regarding the Mag250 box, "we will need to check" after doing this the Mag250 box is not able to store all the features required by our system. Sorry about that and our boxes cost £150 one off payment then the box is yours to use anywhere. Having said that we can offer you £50 off the price of a new box in exchange for your old box. Therefore the price for one years subscription including the new box would be £400 and then £300 every year after.

I honestly never thought I would ever say this, but having NTV in the TRNC and for ever moaning about it, I recently moved back to the UK and had TalkTalk TV & phone put in and the TV is worse than NTV. It is buffering constantly, even the catchup system buffers and pixilates and when you get on the phone to complain I am speaking to some Indian guy in Mumbai it seems, so please count your blessings. At least there you have the wonderful Erol who never let me down with my help questions.

Topten,if you think Erol is still involved,forget it!! Multimax are no longer involved with NTV,not been for months! Believe me, the back up for NTV is absolute rubbish! Only so much can be sorted from the other end of a laptop,they pretty much told me they would not send a technician to see our massive problems. A complete waste of money!! Friends of ours also have major issues with them.

@Becker

Complaining on the forum and trying to undermine NTV's reputation won't help you resolve your technical issues, if you are indeed an NTV subscriber. NTV does not sent technicians to addresses. NTV provides much more feature-wise and channel-wise than DS TV and it will keep on going this way in future, due to NTV's technical implementation of the service. If you are an NTV subscriber, please PM me your email, with a detailed explanation of the issue, and I will come back to you via pm with the results and possible solution. Thank you in advance.

The poster does not need to undermine NTV's reputation it can do that by itself!! The service lately has been shocking, buffering freezing, what the "upgrade" was all about I have no idea, but reception has been far worse since.

NTV to me has not been as good as it has been in the past but I am happy to stick with it as it has been the best and most reliable so far.

I accept it is interned based and as such has some limitations, with the exception of F1 and Rugby I am not big into live sports, the rugby has been pretty dire but TBH I prefer a pub atmosphere anyway. That said I would like to see it improve on where it is. I have subscribed for a while now and whilst it is problematical I am only doing a month at a time. That said it has many benefits with catch up and video club and I certainly am not going to change. I am with MM as an ISP and that may be why I have fewer problems than some as some of the issues could be internet based.

Several of my friends were caught out with Dopi and I was caught out with Digital Supreme when they lost all the channels so certainly would not think of dealing with either of those companies again.

iv_cyprus. I have been through all the correct channels to try to sort out my,& others issues!! Why on earth do you assume you can make it any better? I certainly do not come on an open forum complaining unless it warrants it! I will state it again! The service from NTV has been diabolical!! If you say by mailing you you maybe able to sort it,you clearly must have more knowledge than the company theirselves. Consider the fact that since the "upgrade" the reception, which was poor before,has got considerably worse!! £350 for maybe six months of reasonable quality watchability? Seems pretty bad value to me.Even the upgrade link did not work for everyone,had to take it to internet supplier to upgrade. I most certainly was not the only one with the same problem!!With regard to being an NTV subscriber,why on earth would I post if not?

I am a NTV subscriber. The technicians that I speak to on line do a good job when they can and are always polite and helpful. However the reception has been diabolical I am definitely going to look at alternatives. We do not have catch-up tv at the moment. All channels have disruption, some channels are missing completely, sound gone on some, pic gone on others but have sound, what a mess. Every day I contact them and it is so frustrating.

@muzzamint

I believe that you mean the situation with catch-up, as currently there are no live channels missing (or possibly 2-3 max. out of more than a 100 available)?

I have been a NTV subscriber for 2 years plus - whilst there have been glitches and issues during that time (usually short lived) I have had almost 3 solid days of unwatchable TV (picture freeze / constantly re-booting / all channels) so there is definitely something wrong. I admit the online live service support has been great in the past but after confirming that my Mag box had been updated / software upgraded, switch on-off routine done etc the NTV support team said it was the internet connection via Turkey that must be the issue? There's nothing wrong with my internet. I am going to give it a few more days of troubleshooting....

I have never had an issue with NTV in the past - but the last few days its been on and off, but it now seems to have sorted itself out - was back to normal last night and this morning was fine too - hopefully its settled down again now.
