More forums are popping up and seems like they are trying to offer same services as what Kibkom is offering. If yo like what you see on Kibkom, then please get friends and relative to register, in TRNC and abroad. You support is much appreciated.

Oh, forgot to mention also, that before I re-activated the Kibkom forum I had over 25,000 "members" - these were not members but spammers, which I had appropriately deleted. Some forums claim to have over 30,000 members and numerous hits - when you look at there activity there are only 3 to 6 members on at a time, er... something isn't quite adding up, me thinks.

New here but verry happy. Fed up with having email every day about joining new forums and disclosing everyone elses email adresses rather then sending BCC i dont mind as mine is a business email, but some must be peoples private email adresses

Forgive me Soner, I liked your book, but I have to object to your comments about "cheap imitations"
Re : "Immitations" - Both Dan's "Lemon Grove" and John's "North Cyprus Views" were started on April 6th and 8th respectively, so to be immitations they would have to move very quickly.
Re : "cheap" - If you mean lacking quality, then I am clearly not a connoisseur of forums. Their members, of which I am one, seem to be happy.

I wish you the best Soner, as I do for Dan and John.

Hi Ian, what makes you think I was referring to the above mentioned? there are about 5 6 forums operating in TRNC. However, I will not mention names, and wish them all the luck as well. Competition is healthy.

HI I must admit to having a nosey at the other forums now and again, but overall I prefer the 'atmosphere' on KIBKOM. I find it very 'user friendly.

know what soner means. I don't think he is being unkind in the use of the word 'cheap' and don't forget that he has brought back to life his old forum (I think>!) whereas the others have started from scratch. One new one is embargoed! and Alex Ritson who has created it said he would plough profits back to embargoed!. soner has gone a step further in allowing his members to decide wheree the charitable monies should go, and then today I get an e mail offering all the things that soner is offering. now THAT is 'cheap imitation' because it contains no new thoughts. But as soner says, competition is healthy. Furtheermore firmly believe that whatever atmosphere there is on this forum it is created by thelovely people who have become members.
Passon the message to other nice peopl to join as well.
Another important thing is that I rekcon when Soner comes over in July as many of us as are on island should meet, so that we can feel we are a forum Family! Just my opinion, but I would certainly like to meet many of you who are just names. som,e folk I already know, but others are hiding behind their delightful pseudonyms and have not yet got a picture up and running.

Hi Marions, I agree, it will be good for us all to meet up, and to meet Soner, maybe he will sign my copy of THE GREENLINE, when I eventually get it. I don,t think it would be a good idea to show my photograph, don,t want to frighten anybody of a nervous disposition.

I met Soner, when he came over to launch his book The Green Line, Holiday in a War Zone. We had chatted on the old 44 and we helped each other out on a couple of things.
Soner donated a signed copy of his book as a prize for the fun run. He returned to the UK and offered £100.00 donation to SPOT / KUSKOR with additional offer of him designing a new web page for both Spot and Kuskor, free of charge, so that both charities could be in the position to accept on line donations from anyone anywhere in the world who wished to help. This web design is I understand now in the pipe line.
When we spoke after Soners return to the UK and we mentioned that Forum 44 had closed down, Soner stated to me that he had set up a forum about two years ago, however, as 44 was going so well he decided to put it on the shelf , as he did not want to step on Forum 44's toes. I think this illustrates that Soner is a decent sort of guy, coupled with his other offers of help to a charity here. On top of this Soner has said in a previous post that competition is a good thing and he has also wished the other forums good luck.

Everyone is a free agent and can join any forum they like, I will probably hang in with one or two, just so I can keep up to date with the news here.

I would like to thank Soner for his speedy reation to offer the members of the old 44 an alternative,

I congratulate him as being one of the very few who actually try to put something back in, in a place or a world where everyone seems to want to keep taking out! Good on you Soner.

Phil

Yes indeed - but he could become a victim of his own generosity, cos I am hoping he will be here in November and he can be one of Ann's victims on The Weakest Link - then everyone can see him, (wlel those who don't get to the picnic, or maybe those who get to the picnic will want to see him again.
Sorry i am a bit off thread here, but this is just to prove that soner is neither 'cheap' nor an immitation.

So all together now start singing 'For he's a jolly good fellow'.

By the way, I see that there is a competition on another thread where one is asked ot vote for the best successor to Cyprus 44 and wo uld you believe Kibkom is NOT on the list! they don't know what they are missing.

Thank you for the kind words. philyesil & Marion.

No need to play silly games - I am trying to run my business as this is what it is, and if it helps others in the process then all is well and good. I do not wish to be on the the Embargoed list of "which forum will win the battle of the forums" - I'll happily sit back and let them get on with it, whilst I concentrate on my businesses that have been established for 12 years now and have been growing quite fast over the past 2 years.

I sincerely do wish them all the best of luck - as I fully understand the pressures of developing a business. I believe there is room for everyone - besides there isn't just one bank or just one restuarant in the whole of the TRNC is there?

Regards,

Yes Soner and that is why I did not propose the name of KibKom. they are asking for any other forums to be put on the list, but I agree with you, it is not a competition , it is merely for people to go where they choose. As you say, plenty of banks and restaurants, and come to that dress shops (far more in my line of things!) and as my beloeve always says '#People should have a choice' - at least he said that when I was a political candidate in Somerset with a certain knowledge that I would not win!
