Is this rain going to last much longer over in Cyprus. Seems like it's been raining constantly since November..
What's going on????????

Not sure what you mean....admittedly we only arrived on 31 March and yes it was raining, but since then we have only felt a few specks of rain in the air...... no heavy or even light showers that are predicted. We live in Catalkoy.

Now that I have said this cue a massive downpoor later!

Please just ensure it is clear for next Tuesday, when I arrive.

I am in dalyan this week and the threat all week if bad weather.
Lovely Saturday to Wednesday then Thursday night windy ,few spits and then Thursday night cold air you can feel ....but Friday supposed to be warmer again .

The weather has been particularly wet (and colder), but it was certainly needed after the very dry winter last year when the majority of crops failed. Until last year the field next to us had been harvested twice a year - last year nothing and the area handed over to the goats!

However the forecast is to get progressively warmer from next week and we will soon forget what rain is apart from the rare brief mediterranean thunderstorms.

The island desperately needs the rain so let's not look a gift-horse in the mouth... Of course you feel for those coming on holiday and getting crap weather but those of us who live here through the good and the bad have to accept that those trying to scratch a living out of the land must look forward to the rain...

On the subject of water, does anyone have an update on what's happening re the water pipeline? Is the water flowing from Turkey yet?

As the pipeline is not in place yet (only about 10% complete) that seems a little previous - I think you've been April fooled Soner

Its the TRNC they will have a leak in the pipework and start pumping seawater, so we will have a salt water theme park.

On top of torrential rain and hail (which we are supposed to get tomorrow as well if BBC forecast is to be believed)), we had a 6 hour power cut in our part of Alsancak.

Well. I've been accused of wearing rose coloured glasses. But so far this year, I, ve been to Istanbul twice, it should,'ve been freezing, no, fab weather.!! Arrived in uk, and have spent every afternoon in sunshine, in the garden. Rose coloured glasses, no..... just feeling blessed.

Chillin - I think this was an April Fool's joke that has been mistaken for truth.... I'm pretty sure a lot more would have been made of it if in fact the water is now flowing - don't you think? There's got to be photo-opportunities galore, yet no politicos with water gushing in the background.... I'm suspicious to say the least.

Seems this thread is more specific when it will start flowing, but I think he means 2015

Reading these articles - who is going to be responsible for the upkeep/servicing and administration is as clear as mud - sounds to me like lots of power struggles and trying to make sure they are not thrown in front of the fan when the you-know-what hits it...

They say 'of course, we will be in control' but not who the 'we' is....

There will be tears before bedtime, methinks.

Just seen on the internet that there was an earthquake here in Cyprus this morning, the earth didn't move for us in Lapta
