Just bought twelve packs - because we can't get anything other than orange back in the UK! Each time we come we buy several packs, and maybe two or three actually last to get taken home......

I think the English clue is Jaffa orange from Jaffa in Isreal not peach from peach land.

Moving to other "eatables" - a friend has asked that we take back to the UK green almonds (just now the time) - we've been to Girne market today, didn't see/recognise any - using Google translate comes up with "yeşil badem" - is this what we should look for on the labels?

Saw green almonds at the Wednesday market in Girne yesterday. Stall was near the front of the Cultural Centre. Might be worth trying again next week.

In case you don't know what they look like, they are bright green with a fuzzy/furry skin.

So do I - one in the eye for the bureaucrats - In making the deliberations and judgement in favour of McVities the court determined that they are cakes because they contain egg. One major difference between a cake and biscuit. Although I see that eggs are now creeping into cookie recipes.

Hos Bes, Karsiyaka (near Club Simena) also have the strawberry,banana and apricot jaffa cakes in!
