phone on contract?

Hi, does anyone have their phone on contract here, from Turkcell, for instance? If so, what sort of phones do they do and how much? Thanks for your help, in advance.

I have had a contract for years, but I had my own phone. Not sure if they supply the phones as well, like they do in England. You should go and talk to them as they have different contracts depending on what you want. They all speak English in the Turkcell shop in Girne high street and are very helpful

Depends on the phone you want they add it to your monthly bill. I think they start at 90ytl per month.

I'm on contract with Turkcell , iphone 4S - 150 TL a month ( so wish I'd got a samsung ! ) , Be careful of the packages that they offer , costs can climb easily

Check with fixed price contracts that you can phone ANY phone in TRNC and not just other Turkcell phones. I have a contract with Telsim and pay 69TL a month for 500 minutes of calls to any TRNC phone. This does not include the small monthly standing charge and nor does it include texts which I don't do anyway. They have a variety of packages - ask at their Girne shop. Have been with them for many years and not had any problems. Quite useful that you can ring them on a free phone number and pay your bill using a card.

and i believe you have to have residency stamp in your passport on be a kimlik holder.

Friend has a contract with turkcell but sim only. She is a swallow so no kimlik nor residency stamp

...But, presumably, a house purchase contract, or rental contract, plus Muhtar's letter?

I have the Samsung note 4 on contract with turk cell. It's 149tl per month for 2 years and includes 6gb of Internet. I had the iPhone 4s before this one.

I just went in the Turkcell shop and took our passports and they set up a contract this was for calls only as we have our own phones

I bought a sim free phone in the UK Moto g for about £65. I have a mobile contract with KKTC cell which gives me 500meg download, 20000 text messages anywhere and my bills are seldom more than 60tl.

It may be worth noting there is currently and issue with KKTC cell and texts to Vodaphone (and derivatives) in the UK, been ongoing for several weeks
