I would have thought that tankered water was cheaper than that. In addition, if you have no meter then other charges are withdrawn (in Lapta anyway).

Price for tankered water in Esentepe/Tatlisu area is 10 YTL per tonne - most, if not all suppliers charge this.

I wondered the same thing the other week when we topped up our card. Seems a pretty big hike!

Unless it's different for you at TBV for some reason, our mains water via the new meters on our site is 2 TL per ton! Council tax is now charged monthly @ 22.22 TL per month instead of the one off yearly council tax charge.

Who knows, presumably the cost may be different depending upon where you are, why don't you go into the Belediye and speak to Hassan, he will be able to give you a breakdown of all the costs.

So, it turns out water is 10TL a tonne, also confirmed by my neighbours (always has been that amount according to them). BUT, I saw the final bill from the previous tenants on the old meter and they had 11tonne for 33tl.... not sure what's happening with that. Surely can't be one price for one and another price for others???

Msg 8. Could be a case of yabanci vs local costing?

You are no doubt right. I've heard of this before but always thought it was pure speculation. How naive of me!

I spoke to one of the guys that do maintenance on here and it's gone up because the management are no longer responsible for the water. The belediye are now responsible since the installation of the new meters. They have increased the price.
I don't know if that makes sense..... I'm still new so may have misinterpreted what he meant.
