Plans are well advanced for the two major summer functions of the RBL Kyrenia Branch calendar with the first one due on Saturday 30 May in the form of a ‘Charity Gala Night’. This will be headlined by the popular entertainer Bobby Davro who is returning once again to his adopted home of North Cyprus. The Savoy Ottoman Palace hotel is sponsoring the evening with the proceeds from the evening going to Branch funds.
Invitations to the event are now available to purchase at The Fez Bar & Restaurant in Çatalkoy, George's Café in Girne, Best Seller Bookshops in Karakum and Alsancak, The Wild Duck Café and The Olive Press Bowling Club in Lapta as well as the RBL stall at the Chateau Lambousa Saturday market. Invitations are 180TL, although there are still some early bird discounts available at just 160TL or £40 which can also be ordered by ringing Mr Jones on: 0533 856 3891 or by emailing him at: events@rblkyrenia.com.
This event will be followed 4 days later by the fourth annual ‘President’s Dinner’ at the Deniz Kizi hotel in Alsancak on Wednesday 3 June. Places are limited to 60 for this prestigious collar & tie event which will be hosted by the Branch President Sir Michael Graydon. It presents an opportunity to celebrate the good work of the RBL and pay thanks to key sponsors and supporters in a convivial atmosphere and Branch members are encouraged to attend. Doors open at 7pm with a 4 course meal including port and coffee on offer which will be followed by an after dinner talk by Colonel John Hughes-Wilson. Tickets cost 70TL and can be secured by contacting Anne Lloyd on: 0533 841 8306 or by emailing her at: welfare@rblkyrenia.com
Events Secretary Paul Jones said: “The RBL committee would like to thank the supporting live music acts Andrew Sings and Tuxedo Junction who are giving their time and talent for free, as well as Figen Kaymak and the team at Creditwest bank for their continuing support of our charity. A donation of 180TL will secure a night of top quality entertainment with doors opening at 7pm and includes a 3 course meal plus unlimited premium drinks and lots of goodies to be won in a prize draw. The show itself will commence at 9.30pm and all of this in the spectacular Savoy pool terrace surroundings and for a great charity cause. Bobby was on the phone with me today and he says that he can’t wait to return and promises a show to remember. Over 200 invitations have been issued to date and it is expected to be an early sell out so get your tickets asp so that you don't miss out, and remember that the dress is smart casual and don’t forget your dancing shoes.”Invitations to the event are now available to purchase at The Fez Bar & Restaurant in Çatalkoy, George's Café in Girne, Best Seller Bookshops in Karakum and Alsancak, The Wild Duck Café and The Olive Press Bowling Club in Lapta as well as the RBL stall at the Chateau Lambousa Saturday market.
