5 posts in quick succession advertising an auction, bit of overkill in my opinion.

The two posts I have seen are for different auction houses.

I haven't checked, but it is possible that they were posted in different 'sections', and that if you do as I do, and click on 'View unread posts', then you will be presented with all of them!

Or perhaps they were advertising different items, or even, as suggested below, perhaps they were for different auction houses...

Anyway, we shouldn't complain, as long as they are donating a percentage of the proceeds from each advertisement, then they are helping to fund the running of the forum.

I wonder how much has been donated to the forum so far from advertisers?

They certainly haven't made much out of me - I have only sold 1 item so far, for 50TL - so I don't suppose that the few TL which I donated went very far

absolutely agree with 1st posting! There are 2 for the lambousa and then 5 for the new one just opened. Surely the moderators must do something as the Kibkom is turning into business advertisements which in my view is getting pretty boring. One advert would be enough.

Keith you are quite correct. When posting in all the appropriate sections, such postings come up under 'New Posts'. I agree it looks overwhelming, and I will ask Soner what might eb doen about it. I am not a computer Whizz Kid but I cannot see any answer.

The system is such that this will happen if any posting is required to be seen in various sections. Not many qualify, but an auction would.

Over to the Boss on this one!

I have had quite a few complaints about these posts, I will contact members and ask that they tone it down a little.

Keith, quite right about donating, but it is pretty rare I am afraid. The forum does need more help from people selling on the forum by donating something however small. The costs of keeping the forum going has increased tremendously since we first started, with the protection against hackers and costs of hosting due to the traffic increasing. Not sure I can keep this going forever without the support of Businesses and Sellers on the forum.

There are 2 buttons on the Sales page for Donating and for buying Stickies - very easy to use, safe and secure via PayPal.

What more can I say.

I would just like to mention that members should not be posting same/similar threads in different categories, should not really add a post to their thread unless someone has responded, by doing so it means you are bumping your thread up the list which is unfair to other posters. If you want your thread to go out on all pages, then this is what the Global Sticky is for, if you want your thread to be at the top of a particular category, then purchase a Sticky, it will also helps in keeping this forum going.

Why not make a standing charge in advance before inserting for sale posts, the same as if you were putting an ad. in a newspaper.
