If you use Garanti Bank or HSBC bank ATM's to draw out Sterling then they make no charge as long as you have the right kind of Nationwide Card.

Be very wary of HSBC ATMs they have a habit of eating sterling bank cards.

Isbank and TEB ATMs also give sterling . No charges for any of these via Nationwide and you can draw 500 in sterling. The Isbank machine at Starling in Alsancak also has a currency changing facility.

True woodspeckie I used to use that one. I have lost cards with their other machines though. I try to use the ones at banks now its a bit easier to get the card back. Those in car parks or markets take ages you have to wait until its the due days for opening up then they take it to the bank.

Deniz1.
All the machines away from the banks are privately owned, the banks have no control over them. That is why you have to wait for the company to service these cash points.
I always try to use the cash point at HSBC bank in Girne, I have never lost a card but once lost a £1000.00 as I was to slow putting my card away and the machine swallowed the money, it was refunded into my UK account within 2 days.

Really, these are run by private company-s ask the HSBC they will inform you they have no control over the cash points away from the banks.

Does that mean that the Garanti ATM outside my local Alpet garage is owned by Alpet and the Isbank (I think it is, is owned by Starlings?)
