Help, we have neighbours who have gone away and left their dog in the garden.

Do no think it is being fed either?

If it is not being fed and has no water, no wonder it is barking. Please, at least, put a bowl of water within its reach. Contact KAR. In this heat it could be the difference between life and death for this poor animal.

agree with the others. Give it a bit of tlc and it may well shut uip. Bet it MUST be thirsty. What about taking it into your garden temporarly and giving it some water and food while you wait to see if KAR can help.

Gardener or owner, not sure which has appeared today.

The dog Dog is not confined and seems to come and go from the property.

Has been in our garden in the past but we have rcently had a gate installed to improve security.

Will keep and eye and ear, as it barks incessently, on the dog and will call KAR if the owner leaves the property again for more than a day.

Thanks for all your concerns.

I'm not sure whether KAR is allowed to go on to private property to remove a dog. I don't believe they have the same legal rights that an organisation like RSPCA has. I hope that I'm wrong though!! If a dog has been left for any length of time, I do agree with other posts, please make sure it has plenty of water to drink. Is it a rented house, perhaps they are going to come back for it or are they just assuming it will hit the streets. If it's been abandoned the dog will sense this and will probably be barking for its owner.

Sophie, you could be right, but only KAR could tell that. Maybe the police have authority, but it sounds that all is now well and panic over. Maybe an owner who treats the dog as an outdoor dog and has no hesitation ona 24 hour stop away.
