HI everybody Peggy McAlpine is going to attempt to regain her Guinness book of records paraglide world record on Saturday. I know Peggy personally and have great respect for her. She is a lovely, intelligent, and extremely interesting lady. I was there when she did the first paraglide, and it was a wonderful experience, I will be there again for the second one. Come along and cheer her on and meet her before she 'takes off' and when she lands.

Weather permitting. We will gather about 10am. Saturday 14th April, at the landing site behind Bells food store at Karaoglanoglu and Peggy is expected to land about 11.am.

Please come and give this Lionheart your support.

I hope she makes it. She is the same age as my mopther would have been, and I would have loved for my Mum to live on and maybe challenged Peggy. Best I can hope for is to live long enough and have a go when i am 105. (But I do have quite a few years to go yet!!!!)

Stupid me. I must have read only message 2 and not message 1. Sorry, sorry, sorry
i do want to try and come, but iit is the BRS AGM at 10.30 at Pia Bella, then the Mercure has a special event at 11 to do with the new airline. Everything happens at once.

But I do agree that she is a very special lady. I do hope she is really well enough to do this, as she had been unwell.

Hope she succeeds as she should neverhave lost the title. Now I expect the other person will have a go later. I think it is wonderful that these older folk (even older than I am! - but a lot!) are still proving that life and excitement are not the prerogative of the young.

Have to agree with you there Marion. Peggy is proof that because we get older we it doesn,t mean we have to grind to a halt.

It has been medically proven that older people who take a briskish half hour walk each day are less liable to have a heart attack and doing crosswords, sudoko, etc helps ward off alzheimers, [wish I could spell it]

The bit I like is that, apparently, two glasses of red wine a day is also good for the heart.

Peggy puts her longevity down to 'a good start in life'.

I practise all of these and I think it helps that I come from tough Geordie stock, we have a great sense of humour, a very important 'asset' for getting through life,

When alan and I were in Oz, we were involved with a Seniors club, and I used to teach computers and ran a discussion class and alan did a Crossword class with my giving a slogan of 'A crosswordpuzzle a day keeps senility at bay'. And I meant it, andd \I practice it, and I think (if i can remember correclty) that it works!!!

I'm tough cos I am a Londoner and was a tomboy and not afraid of getting hurt and eating dryt./ Consequently, I have an excellent immune system and am no afraid of tryng thngs. don't fancy bungee jumping though. allpart of the old song 'Keep Young and beautiful, if you want to be loved' (with the young bit being in the head rather than on the calendar.
