R.I.P. Anne Burn

It was a huge shock to Joe Efe and the Ozankoy Football Team (as it did to many others) on hearing the news that one of their greatest supporters has died.
Anne and her partner Nick Poole were in U.K. and while Nick was being treated for an illness, Anne became so ill that Nick took her to the hospital where sadly she died.

The funeral will be In U.K at Burnham on Crouch, Essex on the 20th May. In the meantime, Joe Efe and all those who knew Anne send deepest condolences to Nick at this sudden loss.
Anne was around 70 years of age and she and Nick had been together for over twenty years, and attended every match they could of the Ozankoy team.

Anne was as diminutive as Nick was 'grand' and they were a wonderful couple.

Joe Efe shared this news with me to put on the Forum, and I was shocked to hear the news, as I often saw them at the stadium, . One thing is for sure, it makes one realize afresh how mortal we are and how important each day and each moment is.

Goodbye Anne - and so sorry Nick.

(If anyone in U.K. wishes to attend the funeral, then further details can be obtained via e mail to nkpoole@aol.com)

Nick is really appreciative of all the messages and sentiments he has received about Anne and would like to thank everyone for thinking of him at this very sad and difficult time.

Many of us wish he was here to give him a hug. But glad that the good wishes which have gone his way are helping him. A loss in such a way is a dreadful shock to the system, and is difficult to deal with emotionally. Hope he has lots of friends in U.K to give him strength in the days ahead.
