My husband and myself have been bitten with mossie's and house flies. We have been
spraying on insect repellent. There seems to be more flies this year than ever.
Any ideas? It spoils relaxing by the pool. Tatlisu Area.

Yes we are suffering too, I think because the beledye do not spray anymore. We plug in a flutex plug at night which seems to help a little, and spray the floor with flutex. When it heats up a bit the fans running help to keep them away. Not a lot of help for outdoors though. Citronella oil and candles may help

No problems yet and haven't seen a mossie yet. When they come, we bring out all the fans, on the terrace as well and they just can't cope with the "gale force" winds.

A few drops of tea tree oil in shower gel , shampoo, body lotions etc quells their appetite for humans , use it in oil burners and as a spray , again a few drops diluted in water as a spray around the house , on fly screens and outside seating areas, works for us.

Theres been quite a few here (karsiyaka) for the last 2 nights I've had mosses sounding like formula1 race cars whizzing passed my ears, also i have noticed that this year normal flies (small bluebottles) have been biting, not good. was advised the 90 lemon spray stuff works, will let you know in a few days. fingers crossed.

If you can get Avon Skin so Soft it is a good repellent for flies and mosses.

In all likelihood the increased fly count has more to do with the weather over the winter than spraying/not spraying. More lying water means more mozzies! Check all containers and buckets and empty out all standing water. Check pools the mozzies lay loads of eggs that hatch in hours...

Nothing works for us. Our neighbours have built a large chicken coop adjoining and supported by our fence. The obvious smell and flies are horrific.
