Have I missed something whilst away. Boss cafe has apparently been taken over by Food Lodge?

They produced some good food etc. which we enjoyed on the somewhat odd occasions in central Girne.
Food lodge deserve every chance to show what they can do.

Mikelapta, you clearly don't know the Boss Café as well as we aficionados do. They had a wonderful selection of coffees and teas, superb cakes, and sandwiches out of the ordinary to name but a very few plus the best Eggs Benedict, this side of San Diego. As mentioned above, Boss Café had a touch of class and the Food Lodge have a lot to live up to. It's not just a case of bums on seats you know. I, and I know a lot of other people, will miss it in its old form.

Anyone who has visited the cafe at the Food Lodge will know that they produce excellent tasty snacks, soups, sandwiches, quiches etc. so I am sure that they will soon gather a following of regular customers, albeit that the foods on offer will be a slightly different from the present menu

I hope that means that the original Food Lodge at Catalkoy will continue as at present, as it is impossible to me to get through the traffic to Boss.

You can get flippin Nescafe anywhere on any street corner (most of the time of course its not even Nescafe, but TRNC speak for powdered/granulated coffee). Its the likes of Owl Lady etc who are in the minority, so we search for little gems such as Café Boss. Each to his own.

My doctor told me that Nescafe is the worst thing you can drink especially if you have any heart problem. I hate it anyway its not real coffee.

I think that the general advice is to cut down on caffeine - both in Tea and Coffee (not to mention 'Coke', Red Bull, and 'Pro-Plus' tablets!) - if you have any sort of heart problems...

I think that it was Woody Allen who said:

Is that we call 'the kiss of death'?

Everything and anything in moderation.

A few years ago butter and eggs were bad for you - never stopped me from eating them. Now they are the new miracle food.

Alcohol, fat, caffeine, the odd cigar - all absolutely fine in moderation. And lets face it, you're a right laugh if you avoid all the time.

Water - too much can kill you
Fruit - rots your teeth
Vegetables - broccoli/kale etc - too much can be very bad for you

Live life as you want to live it and do it with a smile.
