Are there areas where you can take non domestic rubbish as I have several broken plastic beds and chairs to get rid of or will the normal dustcart take them?

Alsancak Belediyesi will collect for a small charge.
Go and speak to the man in the depot at the right hand side of the Belediye building.

Yes they will Keith, but you might have to wait a long time. The man in question has been up here (he comes to check on the size of the load) and then you have to wait. I've been to see him three times now, and he has been promising to take our stuff away for 3 weeks.

I have also been waiting for Alsancak Belediye to come and collect my garden waste and there is a lot of it. In Karaoglanoglu my brother in-law puts his outside the gate and it gets picked up virtually the next day as the lorry passes daily. He is on the main road as we are but I am sure if I even put a token of the amount out it would probably stay there forever.

Alsancak Belediye will collect garden rubbish on alternate Wednesdays in our area (Sea side, near Green Petrol) provided that it is bagged up. I don't think that they collect un-bagged rubbish unless they have given you a quote, and you have agreed to pay - although the situation may have changed since I last checked...

The charge (around 50tl per load) is put on the water bill following the collection. Trouble is, getting them to come and take it away, is when the problems start. We're tearing our hair out here, particularly when the guy who is in charge of bin emptying etc has been to the house and agreed to take it away.!!!

in the ravine at the back of our site you could build a house and furnish it from the rubbish in it

As someone who lives right on the edge of a ravine (far too close as people who have been to the property will attest) I certainly don't want to add to the dumping of household waste into the ravine subject. At least we don't have any problems with our garden rubbish in front of our place because it just turns into compost.
