Grouting ??

Can anyone recommend a tile grout for around a pool area ? The normal tile grout I've found here is not suitable as it is too soft and powdery. The white grout currently around the pool area is VERY hard and resin- like in strength. It would need to be poured so as not to damage the tiles and must be able to cope with 8-10mm grout gaps.

Always a problem here when we tiled pools and wet rooms in the UK we used a high quality grout. In and Ideal world the answer would be Epoxy grout, (2 part mix) we always used this on for instance Tiled work tops. It is impervious.

But it would be mega expensive and very very slow and difficult on large areas. If it is a small repair or around the top edges where the normal problem is then this quite doable.

The Chlorine and the minerals in the water eat away at the grout, then the water gets behind the tiles and your problems start. The grout also goes soft and just disintegrates. Most builders and tilers here just use the normal cheap standard grout.

I found a shop in Girne, Opposite Bektash on the corner near Pia Bella. They sell a good range of quality grouts and adhesives, BASF and other brand names. I have purchased under water grout and adhesive from there.

Also I got a much better quality grout, Not Cheap. But Horses for Courses.

Good Luck hope this helps.
