White drone flying over Bellapais / Çatalköy area photographing everything you do ? why ?

As far as I'm concerned it's a serious invasion of privacy especially as these things can be directly streamed to the internet.

There are satellites in the sky above that have far greater zoom

Drones are really common now. You can buy a little drone to film yourself doing water sports, skiing etc. They are one step on from a go pro.
This one might be photographing for ordnance survey or similar.
I wouldn't get paranoid. If you use the internet you are open to far worse surveillance

Google Earth, Satellite imagery..........would not get to concerned. You have already been spotted anyway.

When's hunting season? Bet it won't last long then......

This looks like a Media drone as it is quite big.
As long as you have your close on wotnodeeds you are safe.

Drones should be banned for everything apart from search and rescue.

My neighbour used his drone and took a very nice video of our villa and set it to music and shoved it on YouTube - PM me if you'd like to see it! (and the video.... )

Trying to figure out how to put small weapons on mine as we speak. Neighbours cats along with pigeons, etc springs to mind !! Oh and unwanted visitors perhaps.

Surely you have a choice whether to use Facebook (I never do). You dont with drones.

I have heard of Satellite imagery being used here to check and correct property boundaries. Perhaps they are now using drones?

Just because you do no use Facebook does not mean that all your details are not already on it. If you email a friend who is a Facebook user they can inadvertently post your details on their Facebook page and from there on it is a large ball rolling down hill. At least with a drone you can see them coming or hear them and most are so low that a decent catapult can inflict serious damage on them as well. However, my post was made tongue in cheek and I have nothing against drones or facebook as in these modern times there is no such thing as a serious invasion of privacy as nobody has any anymore.

Unless you are on the run and wanted on Crime Watch, personally don't have a problem. all your records are on file in Salt Lake City anyway, Big Brother is always watching some where.

Flying again over Bellapais / Ozanköy area again this evening ! do you have to have permission to fly these over populated areas ? or in the north ? extremely intrusive streaming your life and property details over the internet for all to see ! do you think the Greeks are to stupid to use these things for their gain ?? I wonder what the army think of them ? big army camp in Bellapais.

There was one being operated down by the dome yesterday. Saw the controller. Very good pictures.

Estate agents are using them now a days to film in and out of your home and posting YouTube link in the sales advert. Pretty damn good too.

It would never surprise me if the short sighted TRNC government started to use these to intimidate innocent ex-pats.

Ban the flying of drones before it gets worse.
