Anybody else having trouble with the reception for NTV. Ours is constantly buffering/freezing and going off.
Does anyone know where to buy the Mag 250 box.

Have you done a 'speed test' to establish whether your Internet connection is working at its normal speed? It often doesn't run at full speed following a Power Cut, if your receiver latches on to a 'secondary' base station because your 'local' base station has not yet recovered from the effects of the power cut.

If you have done a speed test, and it isn't running at normal speed, have you disconnected the power to all your equipment - including the mains adaptor that powers the receiving dish on your roof - left it for 2 minutes, re-connected, and then done another speed test? (This gives your Internet receiving dish the opportunity to identify the correct local base station, and connect to it).

If you have tried the above, to no avail, have you contacted your Internet Service Provider to see if there is a problem, either Globally, confined to your area, or specific to your connection?

Why do you ask about buying a MAG250 box? - Is it to try to cure your problem, because you have already tried all of the above, and are now convinced that it will 'cure' the problem? - Because if your problem is caused by any of the above, a new box will NOT correct it!

Just had a poke around. Does look like a local internet issue. We are investigating and hopefully will have it resolved before too long.

lancslass - I tracked down your MM internet details from you email address that you had posted here in a previous post.

Hi Keithcaley, yes done all that. Contacted my internet provider who say there is a problem and will get back to me. !!!!! Contacted NTV and they state that that maybe my Mag box is faulty hence asking where to buy a new one. Getting really fed up now with poor service. We change internet provider 3 weeks ago because the last was awful. We have had 3 weeks of excellent viewing then all of a sudden this freezing/buffering. Erol I hope you can sort the problem soon.

The issue should have been resolved as of about 11pm.

Hi lancslass,
Here's a link to one of the cheapest MAG254 boxes, £69:95 via UK, latest model.
http://www.mag254.co.uk/mag-254-iptv-set-top-box/
This box is not pre loaded, but if you have NTV on your Mag250 at the moment,
just contact NTV, they will send a code for the new box, contact them via your NTV account, my account.

How to load Mag box, once you've signed in to NTV...

Here's a link for more info...

Have you had your MAG250 box checked for faults?
Might just need a wee service!
Good luck
Navek

Ring Multimax and report it - get a job reference.

If you can't get through on the 'phone, they do have an online help system for reporting faults and other issues. Once your fault is 'logged' it will be followed up.

If they say it's fixed, and it isn't - get straight back onto them, while the fault condition is still apparent - don't leave it until the next day, when conditions may be different.

Don't rely on Erol or another Multimax employee spotting your post on here - they may not look at this forum every day, or even every week!

Erol said that the fault should have been 'fixed' as of 11pm last night - was it OK at that time? (you didn't say) - or had you gone to bed by then? You do need to give them as much detailed information as possible for them to have any hope of tracing the cause...
