Well so long as you don't turn up in your underwear you should be ok....who is wearing their underwear at the beach anyway?

I can think of a lot worse sights on a beach than underwear.It actually helps if some people fit into their clothes in the first place,size 26 trying to get into size 22 bikini and 56 inch waist trying to get into 50 inch shorts is equally offensive.

How about banning women walking into supermarkets and shops wearing beachwear ie bikini tops and shorts not much bigger than thongs. I sit in karsiyaka coffee shop sometimes in morning and you see the men looking and muttering "ship" meaning shame. Lots of these women getting on not nymphs!!!!!

What I find outrageous and totally unacceptable are those people of all shapes and sizes who will insist on wearing beachwear of uncoordinated colours. You've probably seen them: red tops with blue bottoms, or mauve and puce together. Extremely unsightly, aesthetically unpleasing and offensive. Have these kinds of people no sense of shame?
And who is too blame for their lack of colour coordination? Is it the parents, schools or the local lollipop lady or man? Something or someone needs to address this upsetting issue before we are all infected by it.

Blame the designers, and also the lack of choice especially here when you are long and wide. short and wide seems to be the in thing with little feet.
My size nines are a real pain but luckily Keith loves my clod hopping boots

Our pet dogs have it right on the (lack of) inhibitions front. The human race is screwed up and lagging behind, in my humble opinion, of course. Repression and shame are taught during childhood. What happened to 'live and let live'?

Of all the things I really find offensive on the beach - underwear is the least of them...

Don't leave broken glass
don't leave any litter for that matter
don't leave your dog or cat....
don't leave dog poo
in fact don't leave anything but your footprint....

Please do leave the turtles - alone
if the beach is clean, leave it how you found it...
if it's not, leave it cleaner than you found it

And the phrase 'çok ayıp' which we would translate to mean 'big shame on you' really works... if I see anyone doing something anti-social like littering I say 'çok ayıp - yaramazlık yapma' which means '(big) shame on you- don't do naughty things'

PS just washing my mankini... NOT.

I totally agree with this :: I lost a lot of weight recently and the choice , particularly for an older person who needs something easy to change in and out of, but not overexposure of elderly body, is abysmal anywhere particularly here. Either a cross between a corset and a chastity belt too hot but still take ages to dry, or three small hankies loosely stitched together. If you are a different size above and between the waist even worse and impossible for those with mobility problems who cant get to the bigger shops. , No option but to combine two different cossies from a car boot or charity shop. After an ill fitting bikini top broke its fastenings and floated off when I dived in I have taken to wearing a sleeveless t shirt over whatever else I wear, for modesty and aesthetics.

Seriously what people dont realise that is their underwear, which might in fact be less revealing than some swimwear normally, can become transparent when wet!!

There is an article in CT which gives other provisions of the PROPOSED new law: forbidding litter, licencing jet skis, providing free access to part of the beach, and setting low charges for access to facilities and parking, providing lifeguards, are to be commended. The question is whether they can or will be enforced. Why, for goodness sake, could they not include the provision and emptying of waste bins - I am sure that if this was done at least 50% of the litter would be dealt with if that was done.

Whatever I choose to wear, I have to ensure, in order to avoid upsetting Public sensibilities, that it is sufficiently large that it can accommodate the Flags of All Nations - with a bit of space to spare.

They sound just the ticket!

Ah Ha, that is the reason they come in "White", it enables the wearer to display all flags prominently and with pride!! Went down to get mine this morning - "Sold Out"!!!!! Now have to wait for the next container I guess - should not have advertised them on here, its my own fault.

Dogs (in fact all animals except most humans) defecate, urinate and procreate (or try to!) in public without inhibition - the latter often with inappropriate objects, such as human, or even table, legs. They also scratch and lick them selves in intimate places. One of mine often lies on his back, crosses his front paws and spreads his back legs displaying everything he has (or in his case a couple of things he hasn't) to the world. Naturally one trains domesticated dogs out of the worst of these habits but they are innate and sometimes come out at the most embarrassing moments.

I love dogs, and three are my best friends , despite their occasional antisocial behaviour,, but I really do not think I want to witness people of any gender on a beach or anywhere else copying their behaviour

Furthermore most pet dogs, if properly fed, exercised and groomed, are fit are have attractive bodies, covered with glossy fur, which also protects , among other things, from sunburn. The same cant be seen for many of the humans one sees inadequately covered on beaches and elsewhere.
