a very interesting and valid question. I can't imagine one oculd get a licence without residency, but..... rules here certainly get stretched, so... I would love to hear the results, even if no names. Just numbers. Please.

It is all very well asking questions on a forum where answers will vary according to the time of day, the weather etc.

It is quite simple to obtain a TRNC driving licence you must hold Temporary Residence as a minimum.

I you get a licence for multiple years and you allow your Temporary Residency to lapse because of the alleged over 60 anamoly your Driving Licence also lapses. ie no residency, no licence,

Get a Minister to show us a law that states otherwise then I will consider letting both lapse. Have sombody via a forum state it without proof then no way!

New topic is on the main page of the board. Not elsewhere. So, get back to Board Forum and it should be there at the top on the left. I will now double check for myself.

Yes it's there. Do you think there should be more 'new post' lin ks scattered around? Sorry off topic, but don't want to start a new one.

as to the over 60, I personally would not advise ANYONE to take a chance on this idea of not needing residency. Nothing written down, so forget it. Even that which is written down is difficult enough to follow.

And no one has yet admitted to letting their residency lapse, leaving the country and getting back in without a problem. Tooooooo risky.

Indeed Stella, but who would dare admit it now that it seems to be extremely risky not only to do it, but also to admit it???????

It was my residency Keith . Sure we all want to avoid paying money if we dont have to but at least I am legal as far as possible.

Thanks Deniz,

That was what I thought that you meant - it's just that 'Royalcorpsoftranspor(t)' was asking about Driving Licence renewal for the over 60's without a residency visa.

It's a minefield this, isn't it?

Regards,

Keith.
