Looking at setting up a local bank account with Koop bank in Esentepe village just to pay bills such as council tax and Kibtec.

If I want to arrange DD of my Kibtec leccy bill can the bank set this up on production of my latest bill, or do I need to go into Kibtec offices with my new bank account details? If the latter, can someone direct me to location of Kibtec office in Girne please?

Don't know specifically for Koop but with HSBC I was able to set the account up online using my Kibtek account number. So I suggest you go to koop first with your bill/account details - I have paid electric bills via them in the past, before I set up DD, only producing my bill.

Thanks for the reply, yes I intend taking a bill in with me when I try to open an account.

When we opened an account with Creditwest all we needed was a bill with our address and account info amd we were able to set up DD for electric, water and municipal charge.

Very easy to do and 4 years on it works!
