Do not often go East of Girne, but the big Starling at Alsancak has Schweppes slimline tonic in large bottles or little tins

Britvic slimline Tonic in small tins at some supermarkets and wine sellers, don't know specific ones 'out East' - you could ask 'fatouche' whether the new Şah Market stocks it...

This is one of the very few things that I miss after moving here from UK. Unfortunately, have only ever been able to find the small cans of Schweppes on occasion in Tempo. Have looked in Sah but not found any. Occasionally, we pop over to the south and do a bit of shopping, and have found it over there, different brands though, but in large bottles. I still keep searching over here in the hope that it will become available. The small cans are quite expensive.

mrsgee, If you are going South, then AlphaMega now routinely seem to stock TESCO brand slimline tonic (in fact they stock so much Tesco stuff that my friend Liz calls it 'TescoMega'! )
On the West side, Ileli often have One Litre bottles of 'Royal' slimline tonic, as well as the Britvic cans.

Thanks Keith, I got the Heritage make last week from Alphamega. Had not tried the brand before but it was on special offer, 2 for 1 I think. If I go again I will stock up. It tasted ok and not so sweet as 'fat' tonic.

Can you please tell me how to get to this shop going through the Metahan crossing.

After the GC Customs cabin, turn right & immediately right again onto the main road.
Follow the road around a left-hand bend, with the racecourse on your left, keeping to the main road.
When you hit the T junction (near the Coca-Cola Factory & the big Gym) turn left, then take the second road on the right (there's a shop called 'Corsa' on the corner).
When you reach the traffic lights you will see it on the far side of the junction, opposite MacDonalds.
Here's a

Have to say, once you try Fever-Tree tonic preferably with Hendricks or Bombay Gin, you will not care about the calories. Haven't found it in TRNC - has anyone else?

It isn't even actually one of my problems at all, 'cos I know where to get it!
- and it's nice to be able to point others in the right direction, whether it's something vital or something more trivial.
Although, you might consider this: Slimline / Sugar-free soft drinks can be a very useful tool in a diabetic's armory - you may be able to eat or drink anything you like with impunity, but not everyone is so fortunate...
