lonely budgie

Our ancient budgie has just passed on, leaving a very lonely cock bird on his own. As I do not like to support pet shops that sell animals, has anyone either got a hen that they no longer want, or would like a cock to keep their hen company?

Our boy was rescued from a fate worse than death, and has always lived in a big cage, so any newcomer would have to be used to a cage, not an aviary. They would not be bred under any circumstances! He is not tame either, we acquired him as an adult, although he is used to the dogs barking and is calm when he is cleaned out etc.

Can anybody help?

Sorry I can't help with a female bird for you from our aviary as difficult to catch and we've had them all since baby's. (But now adult)
But your male budgie is welcome to to join them.

I am based lapta
