Having just purchased a villa in Girne (Alagadi) recently, which was Greek owned pre 1974 I have been keeping an 'eye' on Soner's updates regarding the Cyprus solutions. Is there any possibility that parts of the agreement is to give back parts of Northern Cyprus back?

It is no consolation for you but the best answer is - Yes, No, Possibly, Might Happen, Not a Chance, depending on the day and the wind or if it is raining or the coffee shops on both side are shut or there is a free brand new BMW on offer to anyone - nobody would risk a "Positive" answer to your question but everyone would like one. European Title deeds may mean something - but probably not, Turkish title would/might be safe, TRNC exchange land (as it is called) may be safe or not. It all depends on what the agreement is in the end and for sure some will win and some will loose. Buying here is always a bit of a gamble even if you "Think" you have all your deeds correct and all your PTP etc.

Wish I could help you and I do understand it is no laughing matter but wish you and everyone else the very best of luck "IF" there is any sort of agreement reached.
No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.

The one thing you shouldn't do is worry too much about it. I would say that probably 75percent of us wonder the same thing from time to time, but as we have no control over events, then it's pointless. I agree it's no laughing matter but actually that's what we end up doing in a way. You could worry yourself into an early grave and that's not good for your health.

The most important word is IF.

IF there is an agreement on the Cyprus problem. Whilst I have been keeping up to speed via internet, tv news and papers and the relationship between the two heads of state seem cordial and friendly there are still many difficult issues to overcome. The confidence building measures are just that but when it comes down to it there is still a lot of tough talking to be done and it wont be easy.

Think waddos posting sums it up perfectly. We have our own thoughts as to what we believe should happen and would be wary of greeks barring gifts. Whilst none of us want past history to return, it should not be forgotten by the turkish cypriots as both sides try for a solution.

For us we will continue to watch with interest what is happening and enjoy all that North Cyprus has to offer.
