WANTED - Muscular men and strong 'Sheila's' for 26th July
Posted: Thu 02 Jul 2015 9:14 pm
26th July is the annual Raft Race against Rubbish, organized by SPOT - to raise awareness of the environment here and the need to protect the turtles. This is a fun day at ocean Breeze Karsiyaka, when competing teams make, try to sail and try to make the shortest time racing their super craft - with the winners getting prizes. Also there is food available, raffle, some thing for all the family
BUT BUT BUT - there is also a tug of war.
Already the CESV have 'promi8sed' to submit a team of seven men and hopefully another of 5 women, and they need competition - competition from KibKomers. Last year some strong blokes with anchor man Soner Kioufi did exceptionally well, as Soner cajoled, encouraged, bullied and led the men to victory. But he paid a price - he ached for days and so this year, he will merely cajole, encourage and bully from the side. So come on - we need seven strong blokes.
And we want seven strong Sheila's. Now I am prepared to be one of those. Not sure I will be of much use, but am happy to be an idiot if it will help those turtles. So come on, four more Just one thing - I hope the four ladies will be prepared to visit me in hospital if I should end up the same as Soner last year.
Plus of course, if you know any others , such as local bar, or organization , who would be willing to submit a team then it can be a REAL competition, plus the challenge is still there for more teams of raft makers.
More details? Ask me, either by phone (0533 882 4313) OR E MAIL through here, or P.M. or just leave a number on here and I will contact you.
Come on - show your willingness to have fun and be a winner.
