Huseyin Senak on the way down to the Old Harbour via the cobbled steps Is very honest & an expert in diamonds.
He is also very genuine & does not hard sell, he wants his customers to be happy, return to buy more jewellery & recommend to their friends - must say his approach has worked with us!

Ozankoys, I couldn't agree more. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Hi depends on what size of stone you looking for I bought my partner a stone from Dubai from the gold and diamond park if you looking for a good size stone could well be worth the air fair as the stone I bought was valued at twice the price I paidthey have thousands of stones to choose from

Much of the jewellery in Girne is priced for gamblers and their money. You only have to look in their Windows and check the design of the items as well. Very middle eastern to look at. The Grand Bazaar is nerve racking so hang on to you seat and haggle. It could be worth it in the end though!!

An item is only worth what you can sell it for - an insurance valuation is usually over inflated so it is easy to convince yourself that you have bought a bargain.
If you want to buy diamonds for investment then they are not set in jewellery.
The 2nd Senak shop in the actual harbour has more ornate pieces but he is very experienced with European tastes & will make anything you want if you design yourself.

I understand that usually the insurance valuation is over inflatted this was a valuation done by a personal friend of mine who is a diamond dealer so this value is its value and not an insurance valuation

Sneak, it's a no brainier. I bought my engagement ring there, he knew we were on a tight budget but found a ring I loved, he then said if we ever had the opportunity to buy a better one from him he would take the other ring back. He also down sized my wedding ring and polished it for free which had not been brought from him. A friend had a personally made necklace by him and his daughter took it to the UK for her.

The service is second to none, no hard sell and beautiful original pieces or design it yourself and he will make it for you with quality products as he on,y uses good quality diamonds. If not an expert I am not sure if I could trust what I was buying in the bazaar but I have no experience of buying jewellery there but every shop seems to sell the same mass produced items.

Reşat in the high street. My friend has bought a number of diamond rings there including her engagement ring which is a superb quality stone. They all come with certificates.

I am interested but where are the certificates issued and are they the same as the UK? As the gold is of a different grading.

The certificate is for the diamond grading & does not give a value. For an insurance valuation it will specify the size(s) & shape of the stones & the ct of the gold it seems that only UK uses 9ct gold.

Yes the certificate, which is actually like a credit card, specifies the grading of the stone.
