When does your mobile "switch over" when you land in UK
Over the years my TRNC mobile ( Turkcell) has usually converted to a UK provider within a few minutes. However, last year it took nearly two hours before it converted and caused no end of problems for me when trying to speak to people picking us up at Stansted. I've tried to get a definitive answer via Google but can't. Sometimes I've been directed to Orange and sometimes to O2 (I think it was last time). Is there anything I can do to speed things up, prior to landing at Stansted?

Short of obtaining a UK SIM the best thing to do is to power down your mobile and switch it back on and do a search for networks.... and choose one Turkcell have a roaming agreement with. This should have the desired effect.
There is a setting that tells the phone to search for networks and that can be disabled but you'd need to make sure that it's enabled...
