There is a problem with water in Karsiyaka, we have told the Belediye. Have you spoken to them?

We have reported this now 3 times at the Karsiyaka office, no water since at least the 2 July, went in again today only to be told problem has been reported. Spoke with Lapta office while there and have now been told that a technician will be out today at the very latest tomorrow.

I went to the Karsiyaka Belidyre and he gave me the number of Lapta water to ring... The woman who spoke English asked our address and then said it will be back on tomorrow...so who knows !!

Just to add to the confusion, I spoke with the Lapta Beledeysi Karsiyaka sub office this morning and later to the water engineer who informed me that the water would be not be available again until Saturday evening - I suspect this will be overnight if it happens.
I have resorted to a buying a tanker of water!

They usually save it up for Bayram. You watch it will be on all over the holiday weekend. I give up on water after the end of June and just get tankers through July and August. Even when it does come through, there is so much demand that you are lucky to get even a dribble.

If this was the case!! Surely it would be off in all Karsiyaka / Lapta

Karsiyaka village is on all the time I believe, as are other areas with predominantly local populations. We as foreigners get stuffed here, which is nothing new and something I've come to accept for the sake of my blood pressure. I suspect there is an arrangement between the local water delivery chaps and the guy who turns the water on (when he does) to keep them in business. If I am wrong, I apologise in advance, but, having had a really wet winter, I'm sure they could leave the water on all the time and tha water table would still be very healthy comes the autumn.

I'm in the sea twice a day so no smells from here, except salt maybe.

After all the serious stuff on here the last few days I thought a bit of light hearted banter wouldn't go amiss. That aside I really must shower tonight or I'll be sleeping outside.
