Where is Deks restaurant?

a couple of kilometres beyond Yeni Erenkoy and before one getrs to Balci Plaza! Nice little restaurant right beside a small church S.Thrysos. Lovely setting, lovely people, great grub and a nice place to go for a swim if you want. Wish i could go, but too short notice.

Come next month Marions , you could stop on the way and have a cuppa in Balalan.

will try, but have a wedding that day at Cratos and need to be there by 4p.m. mbut......... miracles haoppen! anyway I have put it in the diary!!! Thanks.!!!!

Where did you go ...Deks at Yeni Erenkoy ? I was there until about 2pm and the restaurant was open .

did you go to the old DEKS at Iskele? Or what time did you get to Y.E. as I have never known them to close - they do evening meals etc, etc? Sstrange.

No we went to Deks at Yeni Erenkoy just down from the new marina. we were there about noon. the bar was deserted, no-one in the restaurant and as far as we could see no-one in the Kitchen. I didn't see any foord or drinks with the people on the stalls either

Hi Carolhm and Mickhm , I was helping with the stalls at Deks. We arrived at about 11am , all owners and staff were there . A couple were sat having breakfast and another man was sat reading a paper and drinking coffee. It was a quiet morning but I guess people venture out later in the day at this time of year when it is a bit cooler. If you found no one in the restaurant or kitchen I guess they must have been busy doing other jobs etc, it is a shame that you did not ask one of the people on the stalls if it was possible for you to have something to eat, or a drink, one of us was more than likely to have been chatting with one of the owners at the time!
We sat down at 1pm and ordered our lunch , a lovely meal with great service.
Deks is a great place , just as Marions described .

Hi I can only speak as I find as it was our first trip to Deks. Indeed the stall holders were friendly and showed us their wares, Unfortunately in the bar, restaurant and from what I could see of the kitchen there was no-one there so we left thirsty and hungry We deliberatley came rather early as the heat later is too much and we did not wish to miss any bargains. Whilst we were there a coach of German tourists arrived. I would of thought that any restauranter would have been most happy to receive them but no-one was about to serve them

Hi I can only speak for myself , I have no personal connection what so ever with Deks . From what I understand , many many coaches stop at this venue , they are on a guided tour to visit the Karpas . They stop there to visit the church, take photo's etc , which is what I observed. I would imagine they are given a time limit before they have to re-board the coach , this would not give them enough time to sit down and have a drink etc, they would have a set destination for lunch. Must be nice for them not to have touter's annoying them !

We had loads of time we planned brunch out so to be touted would have helped or just to see some staff, Never mind should we come again perhaps we could e-mail and book a time for refreshments

I can't imagine what went wrong. I have been there several times, and normally there is always someone around. I am sure too that any of the stall holders owuld have helped. It is a very informal, community based place. DO go again.

as to the coaches, they do not have time to pop into DEKS. They are there to see the churches (top and bottom) but what is annoying is that they often use the toilets at DEKS without buying so much as a bottle of water! (I have been told that by the proprietors.)

Maybe Denise will read this post and explain what went wrong. You must have bene miffed, but I have never heard of it before that no one was there. Might have been an emergency.

Not to worry , we will go again and if needs be we will ask . It wasnt a complete waste of time , the scenery there and back was lovely . Took the wrong way going there but that meant a coast drive back . So all in all a great drive out , and had a really nice lunch before going home .
