I need to get a mole/ freckle checked out to see if it's cancerous. Not having used any hospital/Doctors before, it would be very useful if anyone who has undergone checks and treatment for skin cancer could tell me about their experiences and recommendations, plus a rough guide to what you were charged.
Many thanks.

Dr Aygin the dermatologist in Girne is excellent. If she can't deal with the problem, ie; if it needs plastics she refers to the excellent Dr Bugra at Near East.
Her two numbers are.

A while ago the NCCCT purchased a 'Mole Machine' (for want of a better title) and it is situated at the Girne State Hospital.

You would need to make an appointment to see Dr Fatma Deniz, she will check you out and if she feels that she needs to inspect your moles further she may request that you to make a further appointment to return in order to do so. These appointments cost a mere 15TL!!

I have only ever made an appointment in person for my husband so therefore can only describe where to go but have no number for you to ring: Park up and enter at the back of the hospital on the ground floor, the door is situated under the ramp. On entering the hospital, turn left then follow the corridor around to room 301, it is here that you make your appointment to see Dr Fatma.

Dr Fatma's room is on the floor above and on the day of your appointment you will need to pay your 15TL and get a receipt before your appointment.

My husband and I have just done this at Girne state hospital. You can now ring for an appointment to see Dr Fatma, the number is 0392 815 5097 or you can visit room 307 to make an appointment. On the day of the appointment you need to go to registrations to pay and will be allocated a number. To find registrations from back entrance go up 1 flight of stairs and it is diagonally right from the top of the stairs, go to left most or middle booth as they speak the best English. It is not where you go to pay for blood tests/health reports. From there, Dr Fatma's room is on same floor, with the booths on your left hand side walk straight ahead and turn right, her name is beside the door. If she finds anything suspicious she will refer you to the plastic surgeon, we saw Dr Cem. Make an appointment for him via registrations. He will examine you and send you to his nurse for a surgical appointment. Each appointment cost 15TL, blood tests for surgery cost 230TL at the hospital, if you are a BRS member go to Erdogan at Bellapais lights and save 50TL or if you have donated blood recently pick up the results from Lefkosa and pay 20 TL to get an INR test done at Erdogan. Cost of surgery 250TL. To get dressings changed/stitches removed you have to go to room 401, right next to emergency. You must get a ticket from registrations each visit or from emergency reception at weekends. Cost may be 5TL, most of the time they don't charge.
