When travelling to the UK on Turkish Airlines via Istanbul, do I need a visa to enter Turkey, even though I will only be "in transit".
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

No you don't need one if you are not coming out of the airport (through passport control) Just follow the transit route.
