Just let 'em know that they need to look at the big information boards, to see which desk to use for their particular flight number...

Is this a joke or something?

Have I missed the point?

Its no joke . I have been trying to get my daughter to come over for a few years but she has a phobia of flying . She is coming tomorrow but is getting in a state because she does not know what she has to do at the airport . I was trying to make it a bit easier by telling her which desk to go to .

This link may be of some help though really it pretty much says what he said (keithcaley that is)

http://www.stanstedairport.com/at-the-a ... ecking-in/
Where to check in
The check-in area is on the ground floor of the terminal.

To find your check-in desk, look for your flight number on the screens near the terminal entrance. Check-in zones A to K are signposted by illuminated yellow cubes.

If they really have no idea, tell them to go to the information desk, who will advise them what to do... - it's what they're paid for...

According to their free magazine, the Wetherspoons at Stansted Airport has had a major makeover, been doubled in size, and has flight departure information in the bar.
So at least you can have a decent pint of ale and some reasonably priced food whilst waiting for you flight to Ercan!

You do know that the prices in Wetherspoons vary based on location ?

Stanstead airport menu here

http://mag-umbraco-media-live.s3.amazon ... d-menu.pdf

Cheese and ham panini - £7.25. Chips £3.10 Banger and Mash £9.25

I don't frequent UK much these days but they look closer to 'airport prices' to me than 'reasonably priced food' but maybe that is just because I have been away for so long ? Am reasonably sure in a non airport wetherspoons you can get same or more for less (especially with the 2 for price of one offers that do not seem to exist at the airport outlet) ?

Hi, if she has never flown before and is really nervous tell her to tell the check-in staff and again the flight crew when she boards. They SHOULD make her journey easier by explaining things and giving extra attention. I spent a few years ensuring nervous passengers were looked after and made to feel more comfortable. Hope this message gets to you in time to tell her.

Hi,

Unfortunately the check in desk is not always the same one, as they have a tendancy to change them.
Ask your daughter to write down the flight number on a piece of paper that she can keep in her pocket.
When she arrives at Stansted the departure board, listing flights is almost in front of the entrance doors.
Ask her to check the flight number and it will tell her which desk to go to. The desks are in alphabetical
order, so she should not have any problems finding the right one. If your daughter is flying with Pegasus
the flight will only show that it is going to Istanbul and not Ercan. Hope this helps and that you have a wonderful
holiday with her.

Recommend she gets there 3 hours before her flight so she does not have to queue to check in, this is when the desks open. Go straight through passport control & security so she is Gate side as soon as possible then she will know how much time she has before the flight for refreshments & shopping.
Presumably she is coming Pegasus I would not hold out any hope that the crew will take special care of her but then you never know!

Thank you Taximax , I have spoken to her this morning , she is in a flap but hopefully she will cope . Also thank you Butlers wife , I have waited a few years for this day to come . We will have a great time once she is here . I have explained about going to Turkey before she goes onto here , of course that didnt cheer her as its another take off and landing but at least she knows about it .
Ozankoys , thank you too . Yes she is getting there very early , she said she would rather be 6 hours early than late . She will be there a good 3 hours before .

Thank you all again , now its just a waiting game till she arrives to night

3 2 1, the penny has dropped. I do hope she can enjoy some of the journey. I know that if Geoff had to do the trip on his own he would probably end up in Timbucktoo. Wishing you all a lovely holiday. As somebody mentioned the check in desks can change due to all the changes in the airport. xx

Taximax she made it I am over the moon . I have never seen her drunk and she is 30 this year . But she landed a bit worse for ware , but maybe that was best for her .
They kept her luggage back incase she changed her mind . Dont really know much more at this stage she fell asleep in the car and went straight to bed . It was after 2 this morning when she arrived so was very tired .
Thank you so much for asking after her

That is great news....... for the return journey I would suggest Dr. Bach's Rescue Remedy..... available at good chemists here. A lot cheaper than alcohol, homaeopathic and less likely to cause a hangover...... just takes that nervous edge away!!!! Have a lovely holiday......she could always do what I did to get over my fear of flying.....I became a trolley dolly....it worked!!!
