Importing classic cars.

I know that you are not allowed to import cars that are over 5 years but am I correct in thinking that you are allowed to bring in a vehicle over 24 years old and if so what duty has to be paid.Bob.

Have a look at this thread posted on Cyprus 44, in particular posts 3,4, 5 and 7. This is the absolute correct information as it was posted by the Chairman of the Classic and Sports Car Club of North Cyprus. Having said that, we did have to have an emissions test for our classic Merc this year!
The best person to speak to is Mr Tamer Konat at The Classic and Sports Car Club of North Cyprus. He has an office and garage on the dual carriageway on the left-hand side as you head towards Kyrenia from Lefkosa. You will see signs for Tamcar, Tamco and Kyrenia Holidays a couple of hundred metres before the Hirondelle roundabout. The office is on the right as you turn in. His mobile number is 0533 861 1188. He speaks perfect English.
