for the fourth year running SPOT is going to have a 'Weakest Link' night with Cyprus own (not much look alike) ann Robinson.

The first one was in July and outdoors, and the lastone was at Barons Theatre and indoors. |However, there are always those who want something different (and that includes me). Tricia Dann who arranges all the fund raising nights for SPOT thinks of November, but already a couple of people have said they want it when they are here. So, what do you think we should have? It is always difficult to fix a date when there is nothing else on, or when it is not too hot and not too cold and... well, you know the scenario.
So, answers please when yu have time, and it would help if you asked your friends and gave feedback. Assuming of course that you know what I am talking about. We are hoping to get some good guests this year, including getting the lovely Can Gazi of BRT back, and already booked \Berke of Lapta Belediye who is one of the organisers of the Lapta Festival. And if Soner is here - he is booked - and many more.
So come, on - tell, please.

Cyprus's own Anne Robinson lives in Catalkoy! I might not look like her, I am nicer too perhaps, but I am very definitely a lady of that name!!

Nice to know your real name. And sorry if i was a bit unfair in saying Cyprus Own Ann robinson. I guess you are the real thing and I am the pseudo, but I got pushed into it to raise money for SPOT. of course, it would be great to have you as a guest - I am sure that I could think of some good quips!!!!!

Actually when we lived in the UK the BBC phoned up to invite me to appear on a special weakest link, made up entirely of Anne Robinsons just so AR would have to say; "Anne Robinson you are the weakest link", at the end of every round

It would have been fun but in the end the BEEB didn't do the show but a lot of AR's became friends as a result

what a shame you didn't get a chance for fame in U.K. But if friendships came out of it, then it is more than worth it. So, I hope you will be OUR A.R contestant. Have written separately. But come on folk, don't you reckon we should have a real ann Robinson, and not a pseudo like me, - at least as a contestant.

And, what about venue. ANyone got any ideas as to where THEY think it should be held.

Aah bless you Marion, but I have brill idea, why not let the real AR do the questioning (of course she will need your training) and you become a contestant, with your great knowledge I am sure you will finish in a good position, and regarding a suggestion as to venue, I suggest open air, around late September the ideal weather, but I would say that as a smoker xx

thanks BarbieB for the suggestion but we have a couple of probs. Firstly it is not the REAL a.r, but the same name. I don't thinkthe real one would come over here and help raise money for SPOT, and secondly I bet I would be the first one to do the walk of shame, if only because I was seen as a threat. so, maybe I will stay at the helm.
suggestions are good on venue. But I think Tricia has other plans for September, but if not, then I like the idea. But it is finding somewhere that is outdoors and where we can have enough mikes etc, etc. But let's carry on working on it.

Just supposing it could be late September - what venue??? Bearing in mind the need for a good setting, good sound system and good 'props'?
