We live in the Catalkoy area and for a while we have had problems with the tv buffering and very poor internet but yesterday and so far today it is pretty well impossible to use.Wondered if any one else is having similar problems.Thank you in advance for your replies.

Have you tried powering off and back on again the 'device on the roof' (assuming it is a wireless based connection and not adsl based) ? Somewhere inside the house there will be a power supply the feeds a 'splitter' that in turn is connected to the cable that runs up to the device on your roof. This is the power supply you need to turn off for a min or so and then back on again. Given that your problems seemed to get worse around the time of the power cuts its quite likely the device on your roof has attached to a 'secondary' base station (because your normal one went down with the power outages) and turning the roof device off and back on again should get it to attach to the correct one. This is all guess work on my part and it might not make any difference but it is probably worth a try.
