Does anyone know the easiest route from Akrotiri to Catalkoy and the best company to hire a car from in or around Akrotiri.
My Niece is coming over in October.

The easiest way is through Pyli and onto the Larnaka Motorway, carry on following the Limmasol signs, Akrotiri is clearly signposted when you get there. Sorry, don`t know any local Car Hire companies at Akrotiri, but may help if you contact BFBS.
( If you don`t know the way to Pyli, go over the mountain road, turn left onto the Lefkosa-- Gazi Magusa road. Keep driving for about 20 minutes, you will see an overhead sign for Inolu, turn right at the crossing, carry on through the village till you come to a T junction, turn right and drive straight until you come to the Border crossing. On leaving the border, continue straight , going through Pyli( you can skirt the village), carry straight on until you see motorway sign for Larnaka, join the motorway and follow signs for Limmasol.

Brend, you will need to reverse the directions offered by eyebob94 above. The easiest route can be found via Google maps. The motorways to Pergamos/Beyamudu through the crossing then to Dörtyol, turn left for Lefkösa, right at 1st roundabout over the mountain, turn left for Çatalköy etc, etc. A few questions:
Is she travelling from the RAF base?
Is she in or associated with the Services? If she is, she can easily find out about hire cars through Service channels or ring the Movements Desk there. There may well be security issues regarding hire cars in controlled areas.
If you cannot access Google, PM me and I will email a mapped route back to you.

My son came to Akrotiri last October. There is a taxi service at the base there and they will take you out of the base to the nearest Burger bar, where we had arranged for our usual taxi to pick them up and bring them to the hire car office in Iskele. All went well
