Esentepe Beach-Any Progress??

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone has been down to the new beach area-and has any progress been made lately?

The last thing I read was about the 'hut's' and there was a video with the Mayor and quite a few local chaps cleaning up the beach area.

It would be nice if all this hasn't lost some impetus.

Rosie

No further work has been completed.

It could be lack of money or it could be due to there being a number of Turtle nests waiting to hatch on the two beaches.

I wouldn't want to work down there in this heat - maybe the work directive (no work between 12 - 4pm) has slowed progress

Went over to check progress yesterday - they are still working on the beach facilities, saw at least two men trundling about with wheelbarrows.... A track for a road down from the large new car park near Stone Castle has been excavated presumably a tarmac surface is to be laid down to the area behind the beach wall which appears to be complete.... The rubble of the old derelict half-built restaurant which overlooked the area has yet to be removed.
