Sadly, one of our adopted stray cats caught this poor little creature - a Cyprus Shrew. The only consolation is that there must be a family of them in the garden. This one is definitely, due to size, not much more than a baby, as I've seen them several times. They are absolutely harmless - in fact, they are a real asset, as they feed on small insects. They are exclusively nocturnal in their habits.

Unfortunately our beloved cats are natural hunters and efficient killing machines, like you I have had several of these small shrews deposited by my kitchen door over the last few days, along with half chewed large insects and lizard type looking creatures.
