Hi all

Does anyone know if it is possible to buy replacement taps for a drinking water machine

I've seen them in Superhome in the South, but my first port of call would be either a Yapı Market, or one of the water suppliers - they usually undertake the repair of water coolers.

Come to think of it, failing that, there's 'Tamirci' ('My Repair Man') on the main road in Karakum...

Yes it is, Tektan stock them.... at 10tl a piece. Luckily ours are female ones and can be replaced without going inside the machine... i.e. they just unscrew from the outside and require no locking nut on the inside... Take a note of the make/model with you as this will determine the type required.

Just unscrew the old tap off. They are only hand tight and then you are sure to get the correct replacement. Put a little ptfe tape on the thread and screw the new tap on until it is tight and in the correct position but do not overtighten the tap.

You can buy replacement parts from the appliances shop on the rh side next to the petrol garage at the start of the Girne by-pass at Alsanjac,Fagor shop.

I replaced mine at Tunc warehouse in Catalkoy. So if unsucessful elsewhere and fancy a trip out east.........

Well, we've all learned something!

Halos at Karakum and Alsancak sell them too.

Problem sorted - got two at Halos in Alsancak this morning. Had the last two, she is waiting for new stock to arrive soon.
