This is yesterday's news. Thank goodness the dust seems to be receding from TRNC so we can all get busy cleaning it up!

"Dust particles from Saudi Arabia continue to affect the region. These adverse conditions will persist through 12.09.2015 ( Saturday ) you should act with caution because it is expected that visibility will so poor it may cause people to 'disappear'."
I suggest driving speeds need to be modified downwards drastically and journeys kept to an absolute minimum whilst these conditions prevail or worsen... apart from the obvious dangers your car pollen and air filters will be clogged up with the dust which may cause over-heating or worse.....
When it's gone (whenever that is but hopefully soon!) remember to remove and clean your air-con units particle filters in warm dish-washing solution

Groucho - I love the expression driving speeds should be "Modified downwards drastically" I wouldn't mind but over the last couple of days I've spent hours cleaning all the white shutters at doors and windows, B.....y awful job at the best of times and to think that I'll have to do it all again...................

Just cleaned the outside tables and they were all covered in a thick red dust..... but looking out to sea now the air seems to have cleared to normal levels . i.e. misty water haze rather than dust.
