New electric meter number

Sorry for yet another query on the new electric meters. I went to the kibtek office yesterday to get the forms so I can get an emailed bill. They are asking for the sayac no/meter no. I only have my old meter no. Does anyone know if the new meter no.stays the same as the old one? If not how do I find out the new no? Is it displayed on the new meter? If it is how do I know which set of numbers is the meter no? I received a bill via text but there was no relevant info, just the amount to pay. Thanks

I have a smart meter and still get paper bills. My sayaç number is 19506762. This is definitely different to my old meter number. Hope this helps.

It is not that I think the guys at Kibtek don't do a sterling job, it is just that their communications (like most of the Government departments as well) here is a little - shall we say - disjointed! When your new meter was installed there would have been two guys there, one of them (the technician) changed the old meter for the new meter. The other one had a pack of forms, he filled one in at the same time as the meter was changed so that all the details were recorded. Your new meter number was recorded at that time, so Kibtek already have your new meter number registered against your existing account number!

However, as they do not seem able to read further down the sheet than the first question - it is very possible that the number they are looking for is the one that is on the left hand side front of your new meter, just below the LCD display screen. Cunningly it is camouflaged by starting off with the characters No and followed by a series of figures. If that is not the number then also there is a bar code, normally on the upper left hand side (not the front) of the new meter. If it is like mine it is in a place where you need a mirror to read it!!!

The new meter number is different to the old one - good luck, I am still getting SMS messages for an account that is not mine and will be there in the morning to try to sort that one out as well - I may be there for some time..................

I have returned - disgusted - printed off my electric bill and paid it as normal, then "girded my loins" and went next door to go up the stairs and try to explain the problem of my account having somebody else's phone number and somebody else having my phone number on their account, this was never going to be easy!

Now disgusted because, just inside the door is one man sat at a table complete with computer - speaks good English as well - between us we sorted out the problem in under 5 minutes and I was out the door with nothing to do!!!!! Account telephone numbers and email addresses sorted out there and then on the database - this is not like the old days folks, there was no que, we both could understand each other, it was sorted in minutes and altogether very pleasant - now left wondering if it will work next month? Have faith - Kibtek seem to have got it all under control.

Apart from the meter number!!!! The guy on the desk did not know where the meter number was located on the meter and suggested that all the numbers from the meter be recorded and brought down - then Kibtek would be able to tell which one was which!

queue!

I suppose a very short Queue could be a que, while no queue at all would be a 'q' Image

In Internet Slang, QUE actually means WHAT - or in Turkish NE - so reading the line again it makes total sense. Especially as whenever you approach any form of Turkish Officialdom you are always greeted with a response to your question by the first word WHAT???? In this instance there was no WHAT/NE also there were no other people waiting, lol.
