September meant a very dynamic come back for us, following the summer holidays. We hope you enjoyed this incredible last month as much as we did! In October, still there is so much more we would like to share! The teacher training workshop by the Council of Europe are back, as well as the AHDR annual General Assembly and the Board Elections, plus a number of competitions and an EU Educational Fair organised by EDIC Nicosia. AHDR General Assembly and Board Elections
*Save the date* The annual AHDR General Assembly is going to take place on Saturday 31st October | 15:00 - 18:00 at the Home for Cooperation. The Council of Europe Teacher Training Workshop
The question of “Teaching and learning history in the digital age” will be the central topic of the workshops held on the weekends of October 23rd – 24th at the Home for Cooperation. The workshop will combine both theoretical and practical issues and discussion will address the intellectual problems involved in using digital technologies, as well as tips on e-based learning and assessments.

EUROCLIO Competition
Winner present his/her work in Belfast!
In the course of their Annual Conference EUROCLIO announces a competition on the conference theme of the Annual Conference 2016 in Belfast.
The idea behind the competition is to encourage educators to find practical ways to overcome a common challenge for history, heritage and citizenship educators.
The challenge for the 1st edition is to create learning activities that help to address stereotypes by teaching sensitive history in divided societies.
The deadline for submission is Monday October 12, 2015

Playing CLIL - A huge success!
We would like to share with a you a picture from the innovative 'Playing CLIL (Content and Integrated Language Learning)'; a method which was presented in Cyprus for the very first time by 'INTERACTING - Theatre in Education Company'. The feedback we received from all participants who joined us for a playful and interactive morning was very positive and we hope that we will come back with information on similar workshops to be held in the future!
Into No Man's Land activities in Cyprus completed this weekend!
The last part of our cooperation with the team of Into No Man's Land takes place on the 3rd of October. We invite you all to take part in the academic panel discussion in the morning. Also, over the past week, a group of 40 young Cypriot students drawn from both of the island’s main communities have been involved in a series of workshops that seek to democratise the future of the Cypriot Buffer Zone. On Saturday at 13:00, the students will present their visions for the future of the Buffer Zone and we would be honoured with your presence!

Short Film Competition
On the occasion of World Peace Day the Goethe-Institut Cyprus together with the AHDR and the Cinema for Peace Foundation (Berlin) are calling for a mobile phone short film competition for young people.
The mobile phone films should be maximum 5 minutes long on the topic of 'Overcoming Borders'.
All participants must be between 15 – 25 years old!
The winning films will be screened in a public awards ceremony on 10 December 2015. Prizes will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners!
