Wow. That is a bit short notice. Haven't seen any posters. But who is organising this. Wasn't it originally Festival 12 with two gentlemen who organised last year's. thought it had all been cancelled. A lot of people will be delighted that it is on, but who gets the money? Strange!

Wow. never heard of them, which means I am missing out. Thought I knew of all the charities. Maybe I should investigate and do an article. How many others have heard of them (as in ex pats). I know originally concert was going to benefit Kemal Saracoglu, but lost track of that one.
would anyone like it to have a mention in Cyprus Star - although it wouldn't go in until next week and running a bit late, but as I said, I hav e not seen posters.

We beleive they also have English speaking staff, so we suggest you try the contact no. again and hopefully they will be able to assist with your enquiry.

Mel7348,
I am sorry to learn no-one could speak English when you telephoned. May I suggest when you next telephone you ask for Belize
I'm not quite sure why you are interested in what %age of the takings go to Charity. I can’t give you an answer to that question.
Had you asked what percentage of the net profit (gross takings less expenses) will go to Charity, I can answer that.
100% of the net profits will be going to the Charity.
As a matter of interest will you be asking this question of all entertainment events being performed in TRNC.
Joe

joe soap? re the query from MEL7348, as to what percentage of the profits are going to the named charity.
Personally, I find your response defensive/aggressive.
I do not wish, in any way to resurrect past problems re charity events, and I understand that people want to pay their money and go and enjoy a concert, end of story. But when charity comes into it, people want to be sure that the charity in question is not being used for personal gain, which, I am sure, is not the case here.
I am sure that MEL7348 was asking in the interest of the charity named and will not need to ask the question of every entertainment event being held in the TRNC, unless it has the words FOR CHARITY in it.
Just out of interest, if all tickets are not sold in advance, will tickets sold at the venue be, 1 person, 1 ticket as opposed to 5/6 people, 1 ticket?
Wishing you every success

You say the query from MEL7348, asked to what percentage of the profits are going to the named charity. I am sorry to say she did not write that. If you re-read Mel’s comment you will find she asked what percentage of the takings went to charity. That is a totally different question and has led to a lot of serious misunderstandings recently. It is this confusion which I am trying to avoid.
As you realise the artistes have to be paid, air fares have to be paid, there are hotel expenses etc. Some people incorrectly assume because it is a Charity event, that artistes give their time free, Plane companies provide free travel and hotels waive accommodation costs.
I have no problem with Mel asking in the interest of the charity. Just out of interest I just wanted to see if Mel was going to check up on every entertainment and she replied no. I see, by the way you added an extra phrase of your own, which rather, almost reversed Mel’s original comment.
I think you have a good point regarding tickets sold at the gate. I understand more tickets have been printed for this Bohemians concert which should overcome the problem. However members of the public can help by buying tickets in advance.
Thanking you for your kind wishes.
