What was the Scotland score?

What a shame that England are out though it would appear that the people who have the most to say are the other UK supporters therefore the same old ABE stuff again. It would have been fantastic I think if the final had been between two UK sides, could still happen though I doubt it. That said it would be nice for one of the other UK teams to make the final and even join the England name on "Bill".

That is truly a Brit trait - the ability to kick them when they are down is what put the Great into Britain! Of course if neither Scotland, Wales or Ireland actually go on to win the whole thing - there will always be a good excuse why and then they will take a kicking as well.

Whatever happened to supporting your country in all things instead of just when they happen to win?

Waddo, I still support England Rugby. It's tough but there you go, it was always the "Pool of Death" and even Warren Gattling questioned the pools being decided 3 years ago. Suffice to say those that seem to relish in the England defeat have never made it to the final. What always baffles me is the ABE stance (Anybody but England) there were Irish cheering Australia where I was, claiming they did not want to meet England in the final so that makes a big assumption that Ireland are going to be in it. Personally I think a UK final would be great, if not that at least a Northern Hemisphere one and with England out I am supporting Wales, battered, bruised but with a massive heart. As an English person brought up in Scotland I have seen hatred akin to racism and been a victim of such, largely or even wholly unfounded even with this I have many Scottish friends. Last international rugby match I was at was in Dublin, Ireland/England, England lost however in the bars and pubs both before and after the Irish were great, even in victory they were almost apologetic, no malice, no boastfulness, yes there was banter, true banter said with camaraderie rather then just to stir the excrement.

Many in the UK have lost out, pubs and bars, ordinary working folk who were relying on income from the peripherals will loose income at one end and a the other end Coaches and Managers captains and players will also have a burden to carry but before you judge these people too harshly swap England out for New Zealand in Pool C and ask if England would be going through? Same for Ireland and Scotland.

It's harsh that the host nation are out, and the
atmosphere of the tournament is poorer for it, and I
say that as an Ireland supporter. I remember a 6 nations occasion when
Ireland were playing France, and all the English fans were (pretty unbelievably) cheering
on the French, as their defeat of Ireland would ve
benefitted England. No harm was meant, nor offence taken.... cos we won
Unfortunately, that's sport!

The difference there COG it the 6 nations depended on it, there was nothing to be gained by cheering the Ausies on if you are Irish or Scottish its just malice. I admit to watching the Fiji Wales game and secretly wanting Fiji to win because at that point it would have been helpful to England. However as one of the home nations I will gladly support Wales now. If one of the UK teams ends up in the final I playing the All Blacks for instance I will not turn up down the pub wearing an all blacks shirt a la Andy Murray and cheer them on but I may get a bit confused if two of the home teams get to the final! That said I would be very happy that they made it.
