We can all appreciate that you are terribly upset by this whole affair, but please do NOT allow the dog to lay by the side of the road hungry and thirsty. That is just adding to the poor animals suffering at a time when it is horribly traumatised. Writing these messages to someone when there is probably 1.000.000 to 1 against them ever seeing your messages is pointless. From a reg. number of a car the police can trace a persons address, kimlik card number, speeding fines, the lot. It only takes a couple of minutes on a police computer to find out someones name and address. If the Muhtar delays, then there is cause to wonder. The very last person the dog should be handed back to is the original owner. That's just plain nonsense.

The owner of this vehicle is now identified and being reported to the police. His place of work is known to me, his boss is a british person who is away.
If he genuinely lost this dog he will now have a chance to reclaim her.
If not then I hope he gets what he deserves

I am pleased to hear you have identified this person but I feel you need to tread carefully. The owner clearly did not want the dog so in the big plan of things naming & shaming is one thing but returning the dog, if that is your plan is probably not in the dogs best interest.
Now he is named are the authorities not in a position to take any action against him. Don't get me wrong I have every sympathy with you but not sure how this is going to pan out.

Cally, for reasons mentioned above I am treading carefully. There is no way this person lost that dog. He was seen on the clifftop with an open dog trailer and it is my belief that if he had not seen people looking he would have thrown them over.
However, given the small chance that these forum posts get back to the wrong person, we have to live in this village with our 6 dogs.
So, it is the benefit of the doubt.

Once again thanks for all the people who have supported my post. I just wish you could have read between the lines. Will not be posting about this any more, we have our own missing much loved dog to look for, 5 days gone now
